COLLEEN NICHOLAS - FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Colleen is deeply passionate about helping musicians reach their full potential. With over 13 years of experience teaching private voice and piano lessons, Colleen has taught students of all ages and levels. Colleen has an extensive performing background, including musical theater, choir, solo, duo, and band performances. She is trained in contemporary, jazz, and classical vocal styles. Upon completing high school Colleen began teaching private music lessons and continued her education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Music Program. You can visit ColleenNicholas.com for her upcoming gigs and recent recordings.
As Colleen continued to teach, she quickly realized how much she loved connecting with her students and the joy it brought her when they thrived. After 10 years of teaching private voice and piano lessons, Colleen opened her studio in 2020, developed her own teaching method, and began to grow the studio.
Since its opening, the studio has grown to a team of 5 teachers whom Colleen personally selects, trains, and works with. Colleen constantly updates her team on new techniques, methods, and approaches.
In terms of the curriculum, lesson plans are carefully crafted to precisely meet the individual needs of each student.
Because, Colleen believes in the importance of establishing a comfortable space to begin performing, the studio hosts an annual end-of-the-year recital for school-aged students. Along with several performance opportunities along the way for students of all ages. Past performances have included appearances at local nursing homes, in-studio open mics, Arlington Porch Fest, the Burren Backroom Series, Burlington Annual Tree Lighting, and more.
In addition to writing lesson plan curriculums, Colleen has also developed curriculums for various workshops offered at the studio, including performance, audition, monologue, and a vocal workshop for choral singers. She has also developed and taught an 8-week course called “Everyone Can Sing” for Adult students.
